CAREECH is a career & finance strategy game – a board game together with an App. Make your choices about education, jobs, property, the Stock Market, the Casino and your family, and build the strongest finances at the table.
CAREECH simulates real-life decision-making in the financial aspects of career and investment planning. At the same time the players must balance family relations, unexpected events, challenges and opportunities.
Playing CAREECH creates real-life associations and considerations in a competitive and dynamic, just-for-fun social environment.
CAREECH combines a traditional “analog” board game with a digital App that updates transactions in real time and communicates with the players through different types of messages. The App also allows certain activities outside a player’s own turn, such as trading on the Stock Market and trading Property/Business locations with other players. This keeps all players involved throughout the game and still able to influence the final result.
20 locations in four groups: hotels & travel, real estate, shops & webshops and restaurants. Land on a Bank-owned location and the players bid openly – the player in turn has the Matching Right. Owners collect a fee from every visitor; the more locations in a group, the higher the fee and the value. Buy from and sell to the other players at any time, or upgrade a group of three or more.
Take the College Test and the University Test – one minute, questions with four answers. A degree opens the way to better jobs.
Apply for a Specialist or a Manager Job with a Job Test. A better job means a much higher salary every time you pass Start.
Play Blackjack with dice against another player as the Bank. Double or triple your bet – or lose it.
Your family expects Home Allowances that grow with your wealth. Keep them happy – a family that is ignored too long ends in a costly divorce.
Five Chance positions. A card can be good luck or bad luck, move your token, start a duel or give you a special card to use later.
Pay tax on your equity, borrow at the Bank within your Loan facility, and collect your salary at Start. A Chance Card may send you to the Court House or the Hospital.
The Stock Market (two index funds and three start-ups), the Bank and trading with the other players are open all the time – also outside your own turn.
Winning: after the agreed number of rounds the player with the highest equity wins – or at once, by Knock Out, if one player’s equity is more than twice all the others’ together.
The App does the bookkeeping, so the players can play. It books every purchase, fee, salary, loan and trade at once, keeps your Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet up to date, tells you when something needs your answer, and lets you trade on the Stock Market and with the other players also outside your own turn. The board stays on the table: you move your token and press the buttons for what happens.
